Clinical Nurse Educator – Inpatient 5th Floor
We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team and provide safe direct care to an assigned group of patients. You will also function as a unit educator, master teacher, master preceptor, and facilitate evidenced-based research into specialized areas of nursing. Other duties include:
- Leading educational initiatives to enhance specialized patient care within clinical protocols
- Initiating unit-based strategies for developing clinical skills
- Developing patient plans of care incorporating evidenced-based research and national standards
- Consulting with and serving as a clinical resource for the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care
- Assisting patients and caregivers with educational needs, problem solving, and health management aspects across the continuum of care
- Delivering specialized patient care within nursing protocols and assisting the admission, transfer, and discharge process
- Educating appropriate staff in the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments for their service. Coordinating in-service training/workshops for appropriate staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master's degree in Nursing (MSN)
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers certification
- RN license in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
- 18 months of directly related experience
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 90 days
- Trauma Nursing Core Course certification within 6 months of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 6 months
- Basic Arrhythmia certification within 1 year
Physical conditions: Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
Working conditions: Significant hazard of chemicals and bio-hazardous materials requiring personal protective equipment.
