Physicians Surgical Network Affiliates are looking for a full-time Representative to join our team in Irving. PSN Affiliates, manages surgery centers throughout Texas and is looking for talented nurses to partner with to give superior patient care.

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires an associate degree or its equivalent.
  • 1 – 3 Years of experience.
  • Listens well and devotes full attention to patients and medical professionals alike
  • Has the ability to remain calm, even under the most stressful of situations
  • Communicates well, both orally and in writing
  • Is able to switch priorities based upon patient need
  • Possesses a basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures
  • Is able to maintain confidentiality
  • Type at least 35wpm; MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Position Summary

A Financial Clearance Representative is responsible for insurance verifications, insurance authorization, and pre-registration processes.  

Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the pre-verification of insurance for patients being admitted into the hospital for care. Ensures insurance coverage by telephone, resolves any issues with coverage and escalates complicated issues to a supervisor or manager.
  • Interviews patients and completes all paperwork necessary to ensure the admitting process is efficient and all hospital and regulatory policies are in compliance.
  • Collects information from incoming patients regarding services needed, insurance available, or financial status.
  • May assist in completion of admissions or insurance forms.
  • Contacts insurance providers to verify coverage and obtain authorization for service.
  • Ensures patients have been cleared for specialty service office visits.
  • Resolves pre-certification, registration and case-related concerns prior to a patient's appointment.
  • Gathers pertinent information from insurance carriers, financial counselors, and other ancillary staff to make certain the patient's financial obligations for services provided.
  • Provides support to clinical staff in order to facilitate the administrative components of clinical referrals for various services.
  • Acts as a liaison between hospitals, physicians, health plans, vendors, and patients, or other referral sources.
  • Verifies insurance coverage and obtains authorizations if needed from insurance coverage.
  • Enters referrals and documents communications, actions, and other data in an information system.
  • All other duties as assigned.
