This travel nursing opportunity offers a competitive pay rate of $2,506 per week. The position is based in Socorro, New Mexico, 87801.

About the Role:

The Med-Surg RN will be responsible for delivering comprehensive and compassionate care to patients undergoing medical and surgical treatments. You will work closely with a collaborative healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes while maintaining comfort and safety throughout their hospital stay.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment:

    • Perform detailed assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
    • Formulate and implement individualized care plans based on thorough assessments and physician orders.

  • Patient Care:

    • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered while prioritizing patient safety and adherence to protocols.
    • Monitor vital signs, lab results, and clinical progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.
    • Assist patients with daily activities (ADLs) such as mobility, hygiene, and nutrition.
    • Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative care, guiding patients through procedures and recovery plans.

  • Collaboration:

    • Engage with physicians, nurse practitioners, and healthcare team members to coordinate effective care.
    • Maintain clear communication with patients and their families regarding care plans and condition updates.

  • Patient Education:

    • Educate patients and families on their conditions, treatment choices, and discharge processes.
    • Offer guidance on medication management and lifestyle modifications for continued health improvement.

  • Documentation:

    • Ensure accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in medical records.
    • Comply with all hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Safety & Infection Control:

    • Follow established infection control protocols to minimize risks and ensure a safe patient environment.
    • Respond promptly to any changes in patient condition or emergencies.

  • Supervision & Mentorship (if applicable):

    • Provide mentorship to new staff or nursing students, offering support and guidance.
    • Act as a resource for junior nursing staff in clinical decision-making.

Requirements for Onboarding:

  • BLS Certification
  • Competency Exam
  • Med Surg Experience
