POSITION: PC Technician

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience repairing computer hardware including desktops, laptops and associated peripherals. Experience configuring/trouble shooting Windows operating systems. Experience installing/configuring network equipment. Experience maintaining user accounts in Active Directory. Configure networking equipment such as cameras, servers, printers and VOIP phones. Competent with software technologies and virus protection software systems. Good communication skills. Valid driver's license

REPORTS TO: Director of Technology

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The job of PC Technician is to manage the network for the computer student administration system; supporting a variety of software packages; providing instruction and advice to system users; and coordinating usage among all system users.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Setting up and maintaining computers, printers, phones and other technology
  • Provide first-line, end-user software and hardware device support
  • Troubleshoots, runs diagnostics, and resolves hardware and software problems on student and staff devices
  • Repair student and staff devices - training will be provided
  • Assists with the support of the facility telephone system and its users.
  • Installing hardware and software as needed
  • Be able to demonstrate problem-solving skills
  • Manage student and staff accounts using Active directory and Google suite.
  • Level one troubleshooting of networking equipment including wired and wireless
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft Windows and Chromebook devices problems
  • Be able to communicate in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate inventory
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment


WORKING CONDITIONS:

In addition to the physical and mental capabilities implied by the responsibilities detailed above, the essential functions of the PC Technician include the following: reading, writing, hearing, speaking effectively, analyzing data, occasionally lifting/ moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally work on ladders, and must hold a SC driver's license and be able to drive to school locations.
