This position is responsible for using a wide variety of precision measuring equipment to perform visual and mechanical inspection of critical tolerances of machined parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies and completed units.

Essential Functions

• Checks tolerance and finishes of machined parts, wound components, subassemblies and completed units using a variety of tools and gauges.

• Comfortable using handheld micrometers, calipers, and comparators.

• Familiar with using electronic indicators and digital height gages

• Familiar with using thread plugs, thread rings, plug gages, and ring gages.

• Verifies each step in the process is completed and recorded properly.

• Uses test equipment and gauges following engineering instructions.

• Summarize, file, and maintain records and parts traceability.

• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

• Able to communicate effectively with other departments.

Required Experience

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of relevant course work at a technical/vocation program preferred.

• Must have at least 2-3 years experience in mechanical inspection or manufacturing environment.

• Must be able to understand basic math calculations.

• Must be able to read and understand blue prints.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorship not available.
