Overview
The PRN Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for administering prescribed respiratory care procedures to patients with cardio-pulmonary disorders. This includes maintaining and cleaning respiratory therapy equipment and ensuring safe operation.
Qualifications
- Graduate of AMA approved School of Respiratory Care, preferred, or 2nd year student in final clinical semesters of Associates Degree program, required.
- Current CPR certification, required.
- Completion of 1st year of Respiratory Care Associate's Degree program with associated clinical rotation experience, required.
- Current BLS certification required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and clean respiratory therapy equipment.
- Prepare and test equipment for safe operation.
- Enforce safety rules and follow special instructions for infection control.
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies to patients.
- Assess patients' conditions and response to therapy.
- Participate in in-services, continuing education, and staff development activities.
- Perform CPR procedures as part of the Stat Code Team.
- Keep patient information confidential and follow infection control policies.
- Perform all duties under supervision of Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist.
