Job Description

Position Summary:
The responsibilities of the successful candidate for the Dental Hygiene Faculty include didactic, laboratory and clinical teaching.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Didactic course preparation, presentation, development, course management, grading and evaluation
  • Participate and support clinic or pre-clinic assignments
  • Pursue excellence in teaching using variety in techniques of computers, multi-media and in lectures/laboratories
  • Stay current with learning resources, textbooks, dental hygiene clinical equipment/supplies, technology and software required by the dental hygiene program
  • Student mentoring, counseling and advisement for success and retention
  • Maintain accurate and updated student records
  • Maintain regular office hours to assist students and support the dental hygiene program
  • Support students with attendance at orientations, program activities, and professional conventions
  • Write letters of recommendation, employment and continuing education to support the students
  • Participate in faculty orientation and faculty development programs
  • Attend and support faculty/department meetings
  • Accept and participate in campus and dental hygiene program committee assignments
  • Encourage community service and involvement with faculty and students
  • Promote the Dental Hygiene Program to the community through attendance at local and national professional conventions.
  • Act as ambassador and advocate for the Dental Hygiene program and the dental hygiene profession in the college and community
  • Stay current in the Dental Hygiene profession through professional and occupational development
  • Provide leadership and professional contributions to the dental hygiene program, the school and Education Affiliates, Inc.
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward work, the dental hygiene department, students, colleagues, administration, the school and Education Affiliates, Inc.
  • Support the Dental Hygiene program vision, mission and goals
  • Compliance with all program and school policies
  • Accept and participate in other duties as assigned
  • Regular and reliable attendance
Clinical Coordinator (Related Responsibilities)
1. Meet with Clinic Lead for updates (Daily)
2. Repair/maintenance assurance, communication tracking (Daily)
3. Order supplies (clinical) daily/monthly
4. Oversee front desk (process credit cards, give cash to BM, make sure phone answered,
etc) –Daily
5. Create purchase orders (when needed) (W-9) etc.
6. Order office supplies-monthly
7. Update new student columns on Dentrix.
8. Tally Clinic patient survey results by student (quarterly)
9. Check out graduates from clinic (2 x a year)

Program Director Administrator Assistant (Related Responsibilities)
1. Assist with creation, printing, and distribution of Course Schedules (quarterly)
2. Make Copies- Daily
4. Distribute cohort and program communications (occasional)
5. Organize and follow through with scrub order/distribute.
6. Student Instrument orders and management (3 x a year)
7. Textbook order and distribution management (quarterly)
8. Correspondence and information gathering, presenting for Accreditors: CODA, WREB
9. Check orders and keep records (SADHA, Licensure, expense reports and Credentialing)
2 x a year ea.
10. Assist with event planning (PAC Meetings, Graduation, Orientation, and other
ceremonies)- 2 x a year ea.
11. CDCA Clinical Board Organization correspondence (2 x a year)
12. Employee File updates (occasional)
13. PAC meeting minute’s completion (2 x a year)
14. Faculty meeting minute’s completion (quarterly)
15. Assist PD with reports (occasional)
16. Mail/shipping- occasional

Additional - Assisting PD with:
__Classroom reservation/scheduling (as needed)
__Chase down students for FA Holds or Business Office Manager for payments- weekly
__Campus Vue course scheduling classes/rosters/grades/attendance- (Daily/ Weekly)
__Student Address Changes (as needed)

Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree Required/Masters Degree Preferred
  • Certification in Dental Hygiene
  • At least three years of experience in the field of Dental Hygiene
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized, motivated and results driven
  • Prior teaching experience preferred
