Description

Analyze current systems and assets, recommend, and implement solutions and upgrades, and provide training. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of network maintenance, experience as a manager, and advanced industry knowledge to keep us on the cutting edge. The IT manager will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our operations and a long-term impact on our overall growth.
Essential Functions
  • Analyze departmental needs, identify vulnerabilities, and boost productivity, efficiency, and accuracy to inform business decisions
  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of AWS network/server infrastructure, including VPC, subnets, security groups, route tables, and other network-related AWS services
  • Manage Help Desk Operations: Lead a team of help desk technicians, prioritize and assign tasks, and ensure prompt and effective resolution of user inquiries and technical issues related to the network server infrastructure
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement, automation, and optimization within the help desk and network/server management functions, striving for increased efficiency and effectiveness
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with AWS support and other technology vendors to troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues and manage vendor relationships effectively
  • Change Management: Coordinate and oversee the implementation of changes to the network/server environment, ensuring proper testing, documentation, and communication to minimize disruption to users
  • Capacity Planning and Scalability: Analyze network capacity requirements, monitor network traffic, and plan for scalability to ensure the network infrastructure can support growing business needs
  • Network Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Manage implementation of network monitoring tools, analyze network performance metrics, and proactively identify and resolve network performance issues to ensure optimal server performance
  • Network Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce network security best practices, conduct regular security audits, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Develop and execute disaster planning and maintain data backups
  • Controls budget and reports on IT expenditures
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field; Master's degree a plus
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the technology field with increasing roles and responsibilities
  • Proven experience as an IT Manager or similar role; minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership or management role in an IT setting
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Expertise in implementing, configuring, and testing IT solutions
  • Sound understanding of AWS environment, Servers, networks, etc.
  • Experience in controlling information technology budget
  • Solid working knowledge of current security protocols and threats
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication abilities; strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with a broad base of customers, suppliers, and sales force personnel
  • Valid driver's license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy
