Preschool Assistant

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Interact with children, staff, parents and park district personnel
- Assist with the implementation of activities as outlined in the curriculum
- Manage classroom behavior and program practices according to As We Grow Preschool guidelines
- Take direction from the preschool teacher
- Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:
- High school graduate with a valid diploma
- One year experience working with preschool age children, with a special knowledge of children's physical, emotional and social developmental patterns
- Acquire CPR/AED and First Aid certification and keep current
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances
- Statement acknowledging mandated reporter of child abuse status
- Complete a minimum of 15 hours continuing education credits per preschool year
- Understand and exhibit behavior consistent with stated values of the park district
