job summary:
A Quality Inspector is needed for one of the largest suppliers of industrial and environmental machinery to the power, oil, gas, chemical and other industries in the Compton, CA area. This role involves performing inspections, driving quality improvement, recording non-conformances, guiding production teams, maintaining equipment calibration and leading continuous improvement efforts.

salary: $25.33 - 38.00 per hour
work hours: 8am to 4pm

responsibilities:

Participate in daily start-of-shift and accountability meetings, providing quality-related topics.
-
Drive the Quality program and record non-conformances within Quality Quest.
-
Use Quality Quest to identify focus areas.
-
Support review and training of applicable policies with proper documentation.
-
Guide production teams in the proper disposition of parts (good for use, needs repair, or scrap).
-
Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure adherence to industry standard assembly and machining practices.
-
Review repair routers to ensure adherence to processes.
Skills:
-
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make decisions on the spot.

strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Experience reviewing, interpreting, and communicating technical specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Technical / Trade school or Associate degree (A. A.) is preferred, but not required.

3+ years in machining, assembly/repair, quality control, or related field working with a quality management system within a Manufacturing environment.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, to include geometric dimensioning and tolerances.

Able to operate in a matrix environment and lead without direct authority.

Understanding of material planning and shop floor scheduling.
