Our perception systems portfolio includes work on critical enabling technologies for more reliable, more intelligent, and longer-duration uncrewed vehicles. We are actively developing a new perception system for ships that automatically detects objects on and just below the surface of the water, day or night, and in most weather conditions, by fusing sensor data from multi-spectral cameras and radar using reliable and validated computer vision algorithms. This perception system will be a key enabler for uncrewed ships to navigate safely without human intervention.

About the Role

Integer seeks a driven team member to contribute to the development of our Computer Vision (CV) training datasets to accelerate the machine learning, training, and testing pipelines of the Perception stack. This person labels images & videos that contribute to our deep learning network. In this role you will work with in-house and commercial tools to label data coming directly from Integer data pools collected on various military and civilian vessels during system field tests.

No previous experience in AI or data labeling required. The perfect candidate for this role is adaptable, can apply logic to multiple different scenarios, is attentive to detail, has experience with computers and other software, and enjoys learning computer vision and machine learning principles. This team provides all onsite training to help you be successful in this role.

Primary Responsibilities

• Learn and utilize the fundamental principles of CV applications to produce high quality data annotations that have a meaningful impact on Machine Learning training.
• Provide accurate labeling of designated object classes from images and video sourced from our in-house archive.
• Leverage basic software skills to script and scale data annotation efforts and expand data annotation throughput.
• Maintain operations to continually curate valid datasets of representative data with precise labeling.
• Proactively understand required technical work and address problems with minimal required oversight.
• Regularly exercise technical prudence. Coordinate with senior engineers to achieve new technical skills and grasp understanding of how critical data annotation precision is, and how to execute labeling to produce viable annotations.
• Support CV and Perception engineers to assemble valid ad-hoc datasets that satisfy evolving requirements.

Qualification Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Must be able to work on-site at the Integer Technologies office in Columbia, SC
• Ability to learn and be trained in industry standards of data labeling and image/video manipulation.
• Some experience with computer applications and software languages.
• Capable of working unsupervised after training and maintaining throughput.
