Anesthesia - Acute Care Physician Assistant

Position Summary: Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Anesthesia Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our esteemed team. The successful candidate will provide advanced clinical care in a dynamic and collaborative environment, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety in perioperative and acute care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, including history taking, physical examination, and diagnostic testing.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.
- Administer anesthesia and provide perioperative care for patients undergoing surgical and other procedures.
- Monitor and manage patients in the critical care setting, ensuring optimal outcomes and patient safety.
- Provide patient and family education on postoperative care, pain management, and recovery processes.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing to the continuous improvement of clinical practices and patient care protocols.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities in the electronic health record system.
- Stay current with advancements in anesthesia and critical care through ongoing professional development and continuing education.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Maryland.
- Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care or critical care setting, with experience in anesthesia preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.

Salary Range: Minimum 58.60 per hour - Maximum 90.83 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
