Lead Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine

ACCESS South Bay is looking for a Lead Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.
As a Lead Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.
Role Responsibilities:
• Strong communication skills are a must
• Anesthetic induction (RVTs) and monitoring of sensitive and potentially critically ill patients for advanced diagnostic procedures (CT, endoscopy, bone marrow aspirates, joint taps, and more)
• Monitor and perform treatments for patients requiring intensive management, recognize significant changes in the patient's condition, and notify the Doctor.
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on medications and additional treatments.
• Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
• Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
• Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
• Veterinary technician licensure preferred
• 2+ years of clinical experience/Lead experience
• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and skills assessment with a hourly pay rate starting at $20 - $36 / hour + a $3/hr Lead Technician differential. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
