AMN Healthcare is partnering with a Washington, DC school district to hire a qualified Physical Therapist (PT) to work with one of the top districts in the area, providing services to children of all ages. Generally, the PT will conduct assessments, build and execute effective treatment plans, and educate students to reduce pain, improve movement, and restore function.Responsibilities for this role include:&bull

Partner with the district as a member of a collaborative team to help students restore and maintain their physical functions.&bull

Screen and evaluate students referred to Physical Therapy treatment.&bull

Appropriately collect data, report findings.&bull

Diagnose movement dysfunction and create personalized treatment plans to help patients reduce pain, improve movement, and restore function.&bull

Provide evidence-based direct and consultative therapy services as required.&bull

Maintain accurate documentation and billing per district and state standards.&bull

Participate on a collaborative team and maintain clear communication with teachers, district staff, and families regarding student treatment.School Physical Therapy (PT) assignments are typically 9 months in length but can vary from 4 to 26 weeks (about 6 months) depending on the contract. Required Qualifications

Physical Therapist, School &bull

Graduate from an accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program &bull

Pass the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) &bull

Active Physical Therapy (PT) license in DC &bull

Clear, articulate communication skills &bull

Ability to explain results to a varied audience &bull

Candidates with previous school experience a plus &bull

Completion of a criminal record and background check

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a School Setting is Preferred Excellent Communication, Interpersonal, and Organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, parents, and community members Proficiency in assessment tools and techniques used in school and educational settings Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with federal and state regulations Strong Knowledge of Child Development, Learning Theories, and Behavioral Interventions
