Job Description:

SUMMARY

Carry out theduties of a State certified Class "D" (Car Examiner), including testingapplicants wishing to take their Ohio Class "D" Car Driving Test and any associated administrative duties required of theposition.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Facilitates the testing of all eligible Class "D" Car test applicants wishing to test for a Car Drivers License
  • Provides concise feedback to all test applicants after the completion of their driving test
  • Provides regular updates, and reports to the Director, Transportation Innovation Center on the Driver Testing Center outcomes, concerns or issues
  • Maintains accurate Driver Testing Center records for the Car driver testing operation within the testing center, including all class "D" Examiners testing records
  • May be required to carry out other administrative duties when required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must have held a Class "D" (Car Drivers License) for more than 5 years.
  • Minimum of five years verifiable continuous driving experience
  • Verifiable clean driving record with no more than two (2) points and/or two (2) moving violations in the previous three years from application date
  • Previous instructional or teaching experience
  • Demonstrated experience making sound decisions
  • Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem-solving methods in a variety of situations
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships with all testing applicants from within the surrounding community.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to become a Certified Class "D" Examiner.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse population.
  • Ability to stand and walk for large portion of the work day.
  • Possesses a strong working knowledge of vehicle components.

Special Note: Target Starting Salary Range: $40,950 to $43,050

The final offer for the successful candidate is targeted to fall within this range but will be based upon an assessment of internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirement(s).
