The Costco IT Division is inviting students currently enrolled in an IT undergraduate or graduate program at a community college, college or university to participate in a 12-week paid internship program during 2025. Interns will work within specific areas in Costco's Information Systems Division. Interns will attend presentations given by various members of Executive Management from IT and other areas of the Company. Interns will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses. Housing is not provided.

The Mobile Development team is responsible for providing essential Costco Digital Services to our members through a simplified, modernized, and easy-to-navigate mobile experience within the Costco app.

NOTE: While participating in the IT Internship program, an individual will be classified as an hourly temporary employee for the duration of the program. During the program, the individual may be asked to undergo the normal interview process for a level 1 position. If the individual is offered a position, they will be converted to the employment status matching open job they were selected for. Internships last for twelve weeks. If they are not selected for a permanent position, the internship position will be complete in a maximum of twelve weeks.

• Identifies potential risks and technical challenges early in the development lifecycle and devises effective solutions to address them.

• Stays updated with the latest trends and advancements in iOS/Android development; actively proposes and integrates new technologies and frameworks when they align with project requirements and goals.

• Conducts thorough performance analysis of existing Android applications; identifies areas for improvement and implements effective performance enhancements.

REQUIRED

• General PC navigation skills, including Word, Excel, and Google applications with an aptitude for typing.

• Troubleshooting skills and the ability to logically think through problem situations.

• Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, detail oriented.

• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Possess good organizational, time, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, and stay well organized.

• Must be maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

• Must be students currently enrolled in an IT undergraduate or graduate program at a community college, college or university or a recent graduate.
Recommended

• Web Development or other software development program certification or currently working towards a degree in Computer Science or related field.

• Proficiency in operation of personal computers and associated operating systems and software.

• Knowledge of iOS and/ Android and general software development, design principles.

• Development experience using Java, Swift, and/or Kotlin is desired.

• Exposure/experience with the technologies: Microsoft Azure tech stack/environment, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Agile methodology, DevOps, Test Driven Development, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Costco Warehouse, Ecommerce or retail experience is a plus.

Pay Range: $20.50 - $30.90
