The NYS Certified EMS-Paramedic Clinical Coordinator ensures paramedic clinical and ride time requirements are met in accordance with the NYS approved curriculum, policies and procedures as required by NYSDOHBEMS, NYSDOE, SUNY and national accreditation standards.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Currently NYS EMT-P certified and must maintain throughout employment. AAS degree in an EMS or business-related field preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum of one year of paid experience in an EMT-Paramedic capacity
  3. Special Skills: Commitment to diversity, civility, equity, and inclusion.
Essential Functions:
  1. Schedule all clinical time for the paramedic program.
  2. Seek new clinical experiences and outreach to different hospitals as possible clinical locations
  3. Keep hospital and ride time agency contracts up to date and renew when applicable
  4. Seek out and assign paramedic mentors and preceptors for ride time
  5. Complete and document preceptor and mentor training program completion
  6. Complete site visits for all clinical and ride time locations in accordance with NYS BEMS and CAAHEP accreditation standards.
  7. Review all documentation from student's clinical and ride time experience
  8. Track all clinical and ride time hours, patient contacts, and skills completed during the course.
  9. Actively serve on the FLCC Paramedic Advisory Board
  10. Advise FLCC EMS-Paramedic Program Director of any students failing to meet clinical and ride time benchmarks.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a phone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Ability to communicate accurate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Ability to travel to local hospitals and clinical locations

Benefits and salary range:
  1. Pay range: $21.18 - $33.11 per hour and is commensurate with experience and qualifications
