As a Certified Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for providing surgical technology to direct and indirect care and service. This includes assisting the surgeon, performing operative and invasive procedures, and serving as a resource to other technologists and students. In this role, you will also mentor and train new staff, utilize additional education gained through certification, and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.

  • Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures, ensuring timely and accurate setup of instruments, equipment, and suture materials
  • Scrub in and assist with simple to complex procedures for a variety of specialties, adapting to surgeon's techniques and preferences
  • Plan and provide for expected and unexpected intra-operative events, demonstrating critical thinking skills and the ability to remain calm and confident under pressure
  • Communicate and collaborate with the surgical team, serving as a knowledgeable resource and participating in quality improvement efforts
