Job Purpose:

Located in the Tucson Development Center (TDC). The QA Analyst’s principal objective is to design and execute test plans for validation and verification of software applications as directed by the department manager. Tasks will include integration testing of related hardware systems, participation in design, detailed defect tracking and record keeping. QA Analysts will be willing to work in a team environment and participate in group planning and review sessions. The QA Analysts work under guidance of the Manager of Quality Assurance.

Duties Responsibilities:

  • Perform validation and verification testing of various software products, utilizing test cases/scripts, tools, product knowledge and professional judgment.
  • Interface with project managers and developers to collaborate in development of testing requirements, accurate task breakdown, time estimates and status reporting.
  • Design and execute test cases against software and systems. Utilize test case management tools for creating, executing and reporting testing progress.
  • Perform testing on deployment packages and processes. Troubleshoot software/system defects. Document steps to reproduce issues.
  • Execute SQL queries and perform data analysis to verify testing.
  • Report and track defects to closure, using department software tools and following company quality process.
  • Interface professionally with internal and external customers in a team environment.
  • Contribute to documentation packages for training and other purposes.
  • Promotion of a culture of quality within the engineering department.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of software testing methods and techniques.
  • Ability to develop and execute test cases for applications using software tools.
  • Ability to accurately report and describe issues both orally and in formal written format.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows based programs.
  • Experience in testing PC and web-based software applications.
  • SQL knowledge and experience with SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Ability to follow schedules and produce a quality product.
  • Hardware aptitude desirable.
Qualifications:
  • Associates degree or technical college equivalent in CIS/MIS, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Desire to contribute in a dynamic and growing industry/engineering environment
