The City of O'Fallon is looking for an energetic, customer-service oriented team member for the position of Recreation Assistant. This position plays an important role in the customer-service and administrative functions. Our Recreation Assistants can expect to make a starting hourly rate of $20.35.-$25.43. We're looking for someone who has the desire to deliver great customer service and prior cash handling experience. This person should be able to easily learn department policies and procedures and have knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment. He or she should also have the flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required.
As a Recreation Assistant, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Answering telephone calls and greeting visitors, providing information and assistance
- Registering program participants and receiving related fees
- Processing new and renewed memberships, tracking membership information and making appropriate changes as needed
- Supervising the work of part-time personnel, as assigned
- Receiving payments and preparing deposits
- Gathering information for marketing reports
- Serving on various assigned committees
- Processing refunds and cancellation requests
- Reconciling daily cash reports
- Managing several databases that track various information
