PING, Inc., maker of PING golf equipment, is seeking a Staff Sports Project Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring the execution of PING’s product development process for assigned Hard Goods projects, collaborating with key cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Analysis & Testing, Marketing, Design, U.S. Manufacturing, PING Global Manufacturing, and Quality teams, to support successful product launches on-time and on-budget. This position requires the candidate to reside in the Phoenix Metro Area, relocation assistance will be provided.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage assigned projects to ensure all project related deliverables and approvals are completed in a manner that supports a successful on-time product launch. This includes completing the project deliverables that are assigned; as well as assigning and managing the completion of all other project related deliverables completed by other resources within and outside of Engineering.
  • Plan and coordinate the testing required for each project to achieve successful commercialization.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all engineering related external supplier communication necessary to support the development of all project components, including owning the overall specifications of the product.
  • Interface and coordinate with all applicable disciplines, both within Engineering and the Company, including, but not limited to, Design Engineering, Supply Chain & Planning, Marketing, PING Global Production & Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials, Safety/Environmental, Analysis & Testing, Quality Assurance and Assembly.
  • CAD/CAE design work on components or full systems as needed, working with internal and supplier teams to create physical parts.
  • Responsible to help build upon the internal engineering knowledge base, specifically as it applies to key process and manufacturing related items that will aid the team in improving their ability to design for manufacturability.
  • Responsible for understanding, following and supporting all pertinent company and departmental policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Some domestic and international travel will be required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a properly accredited college or university in an Engineering or Science discipline, plus a minimum 2 years’ experience within the Sporting Goods industry; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Should possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and team skills with the ability to gain consensus.
  • Proven ability to manage, focus and lead small and medium cross-disciplinary business meetings.
  • Proven ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
  • Possess a high level of computer literacy: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Planner, OneNote, SharePoint, Power BI); proficient modeling skills using Pro-E/Creo design software.
  • Should possess a familiarity with all PING product lines.
