Description

Our Duct Apprentices for our Construction department are an essential part of helping with system installs on our commercial and residential projects; assists mechanics with layout and install of required materials and equipment for HVAC systems.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare job site(s) for installing ductwork.
  • Assist mechanic with Install and running new duct into various types of buildings, including residential homes, commercial businesses, and multi-story buildings.
  • Assist mechanic with material distribution
  • Take direction from mechanic and project manager on details of project(s).
  • Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.
  • Learn construction plans and drawings.
  • Welding and brazing
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment; attend safety meetings.
  • Document and maintain timecard through software application.
  • Learn code requirements.
  • Ability to use basic sheet metal tools and basic power tools.
Qualifications

Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent

Required Knowledge: Knowledge of HVAC trade

Skill and Ability: Dependability and punctuality

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Ability to use significant independent judgment.

Ability to learn and utilize app-based software for construction tasks.

Excellent time management skills

Basic computer skills

Working conditions
  • Ability to operate in an open work area with moderate everyday noise.
  • Ability to work closely with other trades and contractors.
  • Ability to withstand heat and cold temperatures.


Physical requirements

Occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, and crouch. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25lbs.
