Job Description

Laborer Apprentice

Mortenson strongly believes in community participation and is committed to maximizing the participation of local, women and minority workers on our projects. To that end, we have developed a Community Hiring process that provides for construction craft worker employment opportunities.

Mortenson will be exclusively accepting applications for apprentice laborer positions. Below is a description of the position experience

Responsibilities
  • Has completed or currently enrolled in a union pre-apprentice program.
  • Currently engaged in a union apprenticeship program.
  • Currently in or willing to join the Laborers Union.
  • Has the desire to develop a career as a union craft worker.
  • Has a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Provide references from previous employers; does not have to be construction related.
All team members are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics:
  • Cooperate with others when in a team environment
  • Accept direction from supervisors
  • Follow work rules and procedures
  • Punctual and consistent attendance
  • Accept constructive feedback
Qualifications
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Willing to work in INCLEMENT weather
  • Physically able to perform the work
  • Dependable and Timely
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Basic math skills
  • Strong teamwork orientation
Education and Experience Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required
