Growing Abilities Duties of this position include: Maintains a safe and secure school environment for the students. Assesses, analyzes, and classifies students' communication competencies and characteristics. Plans, prepares and delivers treatment programs for students with speech and language deficiencies. Provides diagnostic assessments of students. Participates in Professional Learning Communities and sustained professional development as part of a school based initiative Implements an individualized educational program (IEP) in conjunction with parents and teachers for students who are eligible for speech and language services and in need of speech as a related service. Provides individual and small group intervention sessions with students who have been classified. Maintains records necessary for each student and completes all required reports. Participates in the development and improvement of opportunities for disabled students by providing individual or group in-service experiences for staff and parents. Conducts ongoing evaluation of students to determine appropriateness of their speech programs. Serves as an educational resource to classroom teachers, team members and administrators, as necessary.
