The Speech-Language Pathologist in Acute Therapy evaluates and treats patients of all ages and serves as a clinical resource for staff and students. Responsibilities include:

  • Collecting case history information and integrating information from patients, family, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Conducting assessment procedures for speech and language pathology and developing setting-appropriate care plans.
  • Evaluating and implementing intervention plans and utilizing standard outcomes measures/testing.
  • Completing documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating with patients, family, and significant others throughout the rehabilitation process and providing education and family training.
