Performs all duties of Histotechnologist. Under general supervision independently performs a wide range of routine to complex histology laboratory tests to provide microscopic slides for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Identifies problems that may adversely effects test performance and/or results. Uses knowledge, deductive skills, and judgment to identify and resolve potential sources of error. Follows established guidelines and regulatory criteria. As a lead, will assist the Histology Supervisor/Manager in the day-to-day operations that may include staffing and scheduling, coordinating work, and staff training and coaching. The Lead will review specimens and solve problems related to processing of surgical specimens for analysis to ensure timely delivery of reports to pathologists. Ensures all staff maintains safety, quality control, competency and quality assurance standards compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations.
Key Responsibilities
In addition to performing responsibilities assigned to the Histotechnologist, the Lead Histotechnologist will also:

Establishes and maintains tissue bank.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Biology/Chemistry or equivalent life science.
3 years experience as a Histotechnologist in a high volume acute care hospital histology laboratory.
Ability to multitask.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements
Histotechnologist Certification - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
Salary Range:
$52.50 - $67.83 USD HourlyThe Physical Requirements and Working Conditions of this job are available.
