Job Summary and Qualifications
The HCA Nurse Residency Program at Trident Medical Center gives you the tools essential for thriving in a modern hospital setting. This paid program facilitates your transition from classroom to clinical practice through structured learning experiences such as:
- Advanced clinical training in a specialized area.

The RN Resident will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care tailored to the department’s requirements and in alignment with professional practice standards. Working alongside medical providers and other caregivers, the RN Resident will advocate for patients, ensuring personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, utilizing established nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.
Your Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor patient conditions, alerting the care team of any changes.
- Carry out procedures and care plans as prescribed, documenting all actions promptly.
- Administer medications while monitoring for therapeutic responses and intervening when necessary.
- Provide exceptional patient service by proactively addressing needs and requests.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about treatments, conditions, and follow-up care using clear, understandable language.
Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of starting.
- Other certifications may be required as part of employment.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Active Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse status in the state.
- No prior experience required.
- Some travel may be necessary for training purposes.
