Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse for a contract role at a renowned hospital in the Chicagoland area. This position offers a great opportunity to work in a high-demand specialty, focusing on providing expert care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures. You will be part of a dedicated cardiovascular team, assisting in both diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist cardiologists and interventional specialists during catheterization procedures such as angiograms, stent placements, and pacemaker insertions.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and provide post-procedure care and monitoring.
  • Administer medications, including sedation, as required for the procedure.
  • Monitor vital signs and ensure patient stability throughout the procedure.
  • Collaborate with the cardiovascular team to manage emergency situations efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to hospital protocols and standards of care.
Qualifications:
  • Active RN license in the state of Illinois.
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a cardiac cath lab, telemetry, or critical care environment.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (required).
  • Experience with cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology procedures preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Contract Details:
  • Duration: 12-20 weeks, with possible extension based on hospital needs.
  • Shift: Full-time, typically Monday-Friday, with potential on-call responsibilities.
