Work Hours: Monday through Thursday, 9 am to 6 pm and Friday, 8 am to 5 pm

Position Responsibilities:

  • Politely greeting patients and making them feel welcome in our clinic
  • Answering all incoming calls related to Physical Therapy in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Communicating with patients to schedule, cancel, or reschedule physical therapy appointments
  • Verifying patient demographic information and updating information as needed; scanning insurance and identification cards; verifying insurance eligibility and updating patient accounts accordingly
  • Directing or assisting patients in completing appropriate paperwork and answering patient questions
  • Managing point of service collections (co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, self-pay); performs daily cash box reconciliation
  • Accurately preparing patient charts for upcoming appointments
  • Assisting coworkers in the completion of other general office duties
  • Participating in training new employees as needed
  • Straightening and maintaining a clean patient reception area
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • One year of customer service, receptionist, medical office, and/or insurance experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Works well in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively and accurately
