About the RoleAre you ready to unleash your technical creativity? Dream, Innovate, Inspire and Empower the next generation to transform humanity through technology and imagination Electrical engineers at Sierra Space research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll conceptualize and design new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle from analog and digital electronic circuit card assemblies to fully integrated systems.

In this role, you will be part of the Networking and Instrumentation group at Sierra Space.This role will be cross functional and highly collaborative but will focus on the Network side of the team. From working across teams to derive data needs, sensor and instrumentation selections, data architecture, perform calibrations and data analysis, verification, and validation of hardware and data collection methods, custom network hardware development and integration, and network testing, you'll be working on system level projects from inception to completion.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience

  • Relevant experince may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices

  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools

  • Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.

  • Experience with Data Acquisition System architecture.

  • Experience with Data Recording

  • Practical knowledge of Ethernet Network Protocols

  • Experience in IRIG 106 Chapters 9, 10, 11

  • Experience in programming languages such as Visual Basic and Python

  • Experience with hardware testing, development, qualification, and supplier management.

  • Knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles

  • Understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government security clearance

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:

  • Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps
  • Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity
  • Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.

  • Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)

Estimated Starting Salary Range:$104,827.91 - $144,138.39
