IT Systems Engineer I

Maintenance and administration of an enterprise server-based computing system for Millennium Technology Group including but not limited to system analysis, system administration, system improvements, and troubleshooting physical and virtual servers running on VMware ESXi. It will provide second-level support to the help desk, technical support staff, and support servers and applications within the Rosen Hotels domains. This position works closely with other MTG departments in deploying and improving server systems and identifying the potential of computers for automating routine tasks, resolving problems, or meeting objectives. It also performs day-to-day operational management of enterprise-level server systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the administration and maintenance of enterprise server-based computing systems. Monitors operations and performance related to servers and storage systems to diagnose problems and develop a stable and reliable server platform. Have in-depth knowledge of computer hardware and various peripherals. Create standards and operational procedures for server administration company-wide. Take a proactive approach to monitoring platforms and services, identifying and predicting problems prior to them developing into emergencies and reporting recommendations to systems manager. This would include monitoring for usage, data volumes, memory load, software conflicts, and security. Responsible for planning and execution of scheduled projects per systems manager.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalents plus 5 years of experience. Experience with Microsoft server and cloud platforms as well as networking. Experience with enterprise Pure storage solutions. Experience with VMware ESXi virtual server operating system. Experience with scripting languages such as Bash and PowerShell. Experience with managing and troubleshooting enterprise backup systems. Rubrik or Veeam is preferred. Experience in the deployment and management of enterprise server-based systems. For example, Active Directory Policies, Exchange, Domain Migrations, and 0365.
Required Certifications and/or Licenses
Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, VCTA - VMware, CompTIA Suite (A+, S+, N+).
