Job Title: QA Automation Tester
Duration: 6 Months (contract)
Location: Hartford, CT (Hybrid )

Key Skills: Azure - Test Management Tool, Azure DevOps suite (Azure Boards, Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, Azure Test Plans, Azure Artifacts), UFT (Unified Functional Testing) and VBScript, Automated Testing Frameworks, Agile Methodologies and MS SQL server.

Local candidates only-must be within a 2-hour drive from Hartford, CT.

Description
The QA Automation Tester will:

  • Ensure that functional requirements are met and service qualities (performance, scalability, maintainability, security, interoperability) are achievable.
  • Review and improve existing systems using new technologies and methodologies.
Specific Services Required
  • Follow core technology and architecture for automated testing of large-scale distributed systems.
  • Automate testing of applications as per specifications.
  • Work on all test automation components and create/maintain technical documentation.
  • Develop strategies for end-to-end system testing.
  • Assist in testing processes involving new and legacy technology integration.
  • Communicate, collaborate, and present effectively.
  • Deliver business and technical value.
  • Be organized, proactive, and self-directed.
  • Demonstrate strong abstract thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Work with the Quality Assurance Manager to establish goals and ensure project requirements are met.
  • Ensure software and system testing frameworks are synchronized.
  • Interface with users, sponsors, and stakeholders to determine evolving needs.
  • Review system requirements, test scripts, and test scenarios to create appropriate testing workflows.
  • Collaborate with development groups, product owners, system teams, and operations to ensure the best testing strategies and techniques.
  • Generate unit tests, automated functional tests, regression tests, load tests, code coverage reports, test scenarios, ADA/508c/AWGA compliance, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile compatibility.
  • Maintain current state of all testing libraries and artifacts.
  • Create automated test case scenarios for Agile Delivery Teams to meet acceptance criteria.

Required Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years' experience with Azure DevOps suite (Azure Boards, Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, Azure Test Plans, Azure Artifacts)
  • 5+ years' experience in automated testing with UFT (Unified Functional Testing) and VBScript or other programming languages
  • 5+ years' experience with Automated Testing Frameworks, Manual Testing, Test Methodologies, Test Strategies, and Test Beds
  • 5+ years' experience with Agile Methodologies
  • Experience with Azure Test Management Tool
  • Develop and maintain UI, backend, API, and hardware test automation.
  • Involvement in a minimum of two large-scale Agile software development projects
  • Knowledge of testing tools, testing frameworks, continuous integration methodologies
  • Knowledge of web application testing, distributed system testing, performance testing, regression testing, database testing, mobile testing, security testing, accessibility testing, and web service testing
  • Knowledge of .Net, SharePoint, Dynamics web application hosting environment
  • Preferred: BS in computer science, engineering, or a technology-related field, or commensurate experience
  • Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft SharePoint, .Net Framework.
  • Knowledge of virtualized hosting environments

Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with web automation suites like Selenium.
  • Experience with QA functional test suites such as Azure and Unified Functional Testing
  • Working automated testing knowledge for C#, WCF, jQuery, XML, JSON, WebApi, SOAP, .NET, JavaScript
  • Testing experience with web services (REST, SOAP, WCF) and tools such as SOAPUI and SOAP Sonar
  • SQL experience

Administrative Considerations
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • This is a hybrid position requiring in-office presence.
  • Must comply with DCF Child Protection Background Check, FBI Fingerprint Background Check, and DCF Non-disclosure Agreement.
