Radiology Partners Bluegrass is seeking an enthusiastic Physician Assistant to work in the Interventional Radiology in Prestonsburg, KY. This hospital-based position is highly procedurally oriented.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Competitive Salary

• Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm EST

• NO CALL, NO EVENINGS, NO WEEKENDS

• Primary role is to be physician extender/substitute for procedures performed in Interventional radiology and Ultrasound

• Assist in the performance of direct patient care services, including inpatient consults, inpatient rounding

• Perform physical examinations, determine medical histories, diagnose and treat illnesses and/or injuries

• Order and interpret laboratory and radiographic studies

• Develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes

• Perform history and physical examinations of radiology patients

• Field phone calls from patients, referring physicians, nurses and other health care professionals regarding patients to identify potential areas of concern in the medical management of the patients

• Procedures: Central lines, Tunneled Catheters, Chest Tubes, Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, Superficial Biopsies, Lumbar Punctures, Myelograms, Arthrograms, Abscess Drainage, Thyroid Biopsies, Fluoro

LOCAL PRACTICE AND COMMUNITY OVERVIEW

A local Radiology Partners division, RP Bluegrass, will primarily serve Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH). DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Current license and certificate of authority to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Kentucky required

• Must be a graduate of an ARC accredited PA program, have an active DEA license, BLS certification required

• Interventional Radiology or comparable invasive procedure experience
