About the practice:
Family Circle of Care is a Federally qualified health center (FQHC) in Tyler, TX with satellite offices in Jacksonville and Athens, TX. We are very well-established practice and have been caring for patients in East Texas since 1993.
Highlights:
- Clinic system includes OBGYN, family medicine, internal medicine and behavioral health.
- The OB department delivers 80-110 babies per month. No work needed to establish a practice
- Actively working out plans for a full coverage pediatric hospitalist program. Once it’s fully established, call coverage will only be telephone clinic after hours calls “Mommy call”.
- Hospital has a Level 3 NICU.
- Title X recipient – access to free and low-cost birth control, including LARCs for our patients.
- Average clinic day has 21-24 patients scheduled.
- Teaching opportunities – there is a new UT medical school opening in Summer 2023. We partner with residency programs in other departments.
- In clinic community health workers to assist patients.
- Bonus structure includes up to 5% of salary for productivity and up to 5% of salary for quality measures.
- 403B retirement program with up to 5% match
- Employed position so do not have the headaches of running a private practice.
- Making a difference – as an FQHC, we see patients with Medicaid, uninsured with a sliding scale based on income, as well as privately insured patients.
- FQHC employees are eligible to apply for loan repayment programs through the National Healthcare service corp.
- EPIC EMR with all major systems in the community connected with Care Everywhere.
- Family Circle of Care received the Gold Quality award in 2022, which places us in the top 10% of community health centers nationwide for quality measures. We also received recognition for improving patient access and reducing health disparities. We are also a Patient Centered Medical Home.
- Tyler is a beautiful city with a growing economy and lots of job prospects. It’s a great place to raise a family or be an individual.
- We are vey excited about the new UT medical school starting Summer 2023 and the impact it’s already having on the community.
- Tyler is famous for it’s Rose Garden, Azalea Trails and Rose Festival. It’s a great place to be outdoors with several lakes and parks, outdoor trails and the Piney Woods of East Texas.
- Top job areas are medical, education, industrial.
- It’s not a “college town” but there are wonderful colleges and universities here – including University of Texas at Tyler, Tyler Junior College, Texas College in Tyler. East Texas also includes Jarvis Christian College, Kilgore College, LeTourneau University, and Trinity Valley Community College.
- Tyler is a diverse community with about 105K people in town. Greater East Texas has a population of about 1.6 million. Tyler has an active community and social scene. It’s nice to be able to access “the big city” amenities (Dallas) with about a 100 mile drive without having to deal with the big city headaches on a daily basis.
