Description

ALL FULL TIME POSITIONS: In addition to your pay, your salary also includes Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. The Biweekly deduction from employee paycheck is $40.00 for Employee Only, $95.00 Employee plus Children, $120.00 Employee plus Spouse, and $140.00 Employee plus family.

JOB SUMMARY: This position performs, in a clinical setting, all ultrasound examinations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performance of the examination requires proper alignment and position of the patient.
  • Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers the transducer to perform the exam.
  • Assesses the developmental needs of patients from infant to geriatric and adjusts service, treatment, and instruction appropriately.
  • Responsible for obtaining pertinent diagnostic examinations through knowledge of both normal and abnormal human anatomy.
  • Must know and understand the principles of ultrasound and the highly specialized ultrasound equipment well enough to essentially approve the acceptability or reject the ability of each scan.
  • Receives and identifies patients, explains methods of procedures, assists the movement of patients to and from wheelchairs, carts, and tables positions the patient, and performs examinations requested.
  • Must be able to balance the needs of patients and staff while performing complex scans and procedures.
  • Assists in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies. Keeps work area clean. Maintains stock supplies and performs general office duties; enters reports
  • Selects technical factors and utilizes accessory equipment to acquire images.
  • Participates in clinic-wide quality improvement activities and programs as directed.
  • Gives patient instructions as to the type of preparation needed for all types of imaging examinations.
  • Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.
  • Attends in-service meetings and other meetings as required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other duties and projects as required by Administration and Management.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
  • A graduate of an approved school of Ultrasound technologies and/or trained on the job with the approval of the staff physicians.
  • Registered with (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, ARDMS)

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Repetitive computer work.
  • Bending, stretching, kneeling, and moderate to heavy lifting is required.
  • May be seated for prolonged periods of time.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
  • The general clinical environment with frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient body fluids.
