Provides expert commentary regarding analysis and information utilized by business leadership and customers to help them achieve defined objectives. Analyzes large data sets from various sources to evaluate trends and create models.

We are looking for a candidate with:

Experience: 4 years' data analysis experience in any of the following areas: Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or Accounting

Education: Bachelor's Degree Math, Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting, or related field; or equivalent work experience (Two years' relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college)

What a day looks like:

  • Utilizes Amazon Web Services (AWS) to grow the capabilities of BCI's Payment Integrity Program.
  • Understands new principles in machine learning and applies them where appropriate.
  • Designs and develops new methods to identify claims at risk for fraud waste and abuse, not limited to machine learning, advanced modeling techniques, and other innovative detection solutions.
  • Develops complex ingestion processes to extract, transform, and load disparate healthcare data into a medium for stakeholder consumption.
  • Examines and identifies data patterns and trends to help answer business questions and improve decision making.
  • Performs analytic research, experience studies, and statistical analyses and calculations.
  • Researches and applies knowledge of existing and emerging statistical and data science principles, theories, and techniques.
  • Explains analysis to technical and non-technical audiences of both internal and external customers, including senior leadership and physicians. Makes informed recommendations.
  • Makes use of spreadsheets (Excel), programming languages (SQL, R, Python, etc.), and other relevant software to gather and manipulate data and complete modeling tasks
  • Coordinates and directs special projects.
  • Provides technical, editorial, and/or business review of peers' work.
  • Responsible for organizing, building, and completing complex data science projects.
  • Provides expert commentary regarding reports, analysis, and information utilized by business leadership and customers to help them achieve defined objectives.
  • Diagnoses and assesses the need for new analyses to address business questions.
  • May participate in company and industry committees and user groups.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
