As a Logistics Specialist, a typical day might include the following:

  • Developing relationships with customer contacts at multiple levels
  • Promptly responding to customer requests for rates and carrier capacity
  • Providing all necessary and relevant information to dispatch team
  • Proactively solicit shipments from assigned accounts through direct sales and marketing activities on a daily basis ensuring account penetration and portfolio growth
  • Work effectively within the Logistics team, and with other company resources as needed, to address specific shipment service issues and formulate solutions to minimize negative financial outcomes and customer dissatisfaction
  • Preparing pricing options and responding to RFQs, negotiating with both customers and carriers
  • Managing customer expectations though the creation and utilization of account metrics

To land this gig, here is what you need:

Education:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, college education or similar is a plus
  • 1+ years of brokerage sales experience and/or 3 years of logistics, supply chain or related experience
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to handle conflict
  • Proficient in MS Office, TMS/Load board (DAT, Truckstop, etc.) experience a plus
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently

Bonus experience: Have you worked helping people solve problems? If so great It doesn’t need to be traditional transportationr customer service experience: we have employees from all work backgrounds in our ranks

And you are good at :

  • Communication. You write well. You speak eloquently. You follow up on conversations. You can explain just about anything to anyone, and you are comfortable communicating in writing and on the phone.
