Qualifications:
  1. Observes and evaluates students referred to the Occupational Therapist formally or for screening who display symptoms which interfere with activities that are related to the curriculum and applicable to activities of daily living.
  2. Participates as a member of the educational team to identify and document student abilities and needs to assist in the development of the student education plan.
  3. Develops, coordinates, implements, and monitors individual occupational therapy intervention plans that support the IEP goals and objectives; reevaluates plans on a regular basis.
  4. Implements a variety of modern methods, techniques, and practices appropriate to child development principles, including intellectual, sensory, social, and emotional growth patterns and physical development of children.
  5. Demonstrates the understanding of educational and medical application of adaptive equipment.
  6. Maintains progress notes and records regarding areas of service and adheres to adopted operating procedures.
  7. Demonstrates strong communication skills, both orally and in writing, to clarify occupational therapy goals, objectives, and services, and responds to inquiries from parents, students, and school staff.
  8. Provides assistance to school staff through consultation, training, and individual/group activities.
  9. Maintains a safe and orderly treatment area.
  10. Must hold a valid NJ license/certificate in the area of Occupational Therapy

Salary: $57/hour

Reports to: Director of Special Services and CST

Position is available immediately.
