Endoscopy Biller

Our practice is currently seeking a full-time Endoscopy Medical Billing Coding Specialist to join our team

This role is responsible for all aspects of the patient account cycle and customer service for the Endoscopy Center, including medical coding and billing, payment posting, and front office responsibilities: scheduling, preauthorization, medical records .

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Schedule patient appointments.
• Enter patient information and insurance plans.
• Prepare and maintain medical records and office organization.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-certification when appropriate.
• Call patients to collect upfront costs and answer billing inquiries.
• Greet incoming patients, and registration for in-person appointments.
• Medical coding and billing for the facility and anesthesia providers with submission of claims.
• Charge entry and reconciliation.
• Post payments, process overpayment refunds, and send patient statements.
• Monitor insurance payments for compliance with negotiated rates.
• Claim correction, A/R follow up, and coordination of denial appeals.
• Daily reconciliation of monies received and daily deposits to bank.
• Prepare monthly A/R reports to review outstanding balances due, follow up on non-payment and payments discrepancies with insurance carriers.
• Prepare monthly reports for accountant.
• Ensure collection practices comply with collection laws and regulations.
• Assist in facilitating agreements between the Center and insurance carrier.
• Act as a liaison to contracted payors and obtain current information regarding any changes in billing policies or procedures, communicate changes to Endoscopy Team
• Track pathology results and maintain log.
• Triage all email and telephone communication professionally and efficiently.

Education: High school/GED. Some advanced education in clerical service preferred. Current CPT Coding ICD-10 required. Certification must be maintained during employment.

Experience: 5 years' experience in medical coding/billing

Physical Demands: Sedentary.10 pounds maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some standing, walking, reaching. Manual dexterity using calculator. Direct patient contact.
