Pharmacy Compounding Technician

Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Production Supervisor and supervision of assigned staff pharmacists, this position is accountable for those pharmacy services which require skill and training, but do not require professional judgment, as assigned and supervised by the pharmacist. This includes assisting in the maintenance, preparation and distribution of intravenous admixtures and prefilled syringes; and performing those duties of the Pharmacy Compounding Technician as assigned.

Essential Job Duties:

• Maintaining a state of control within all cleanroom complexes by performing cleaning activities of controlled areas and equipment in accordance with USP 797 Guidelines
• Produces compounded sterile preparations following processes and procedures as outlined in USP guidelines and operating procedures, including garbing and hand hygiene, aseptic technique, and skill competencies.
• Maintains proper inventory levels within the clean room complex with bulk intravenous solutions, additives, and all other supplies utilized in the preparation of sterile compounded medications.
• Performs visual inspection of final compounded sterile preparation for clarity prior to release to the pharmacist
• Assigns appropriate lot number verification for each ingredient used in the sterile compounded preparation.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• High School diploma or equivalent; Experience working in a pharmacy setting?; Basic computer knowledge.
• Must communicate effectively both verbally and written; Demonstrate an attention to detail; Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Must be dependable in attendance and job performance and be flexible with work schedule.

The employee will repetitively lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. In addition, the employee will be required to safely maneuver wheeled carts with up to 1,000 lbs. of cargo.

Salary: The estimated hourly pay for this role is $21 an hour.
