REPORTS TO: Purchasing/Warehouse Coord.

SUMMARY: The of job Warehouse Lead is responsible for oversight of the availability of supplies and equipment; transporting orders over designated routes; ensuring safe operation of vehicles; and loading and unloading orders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Job-related experience
  • Valid Arizona Driver License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 years of experience in warehouse operations in a public school district

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Oversight of warehouse operations
  2. Conducts physical inventories for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying losses
  3. Inspects warehouse equipment for the purpose of maintaining equipment in safe working condition
  4. Loads stock items onto vehicles (e.g. supplies, equipment, etc.) for the purpose of filling orders
  5. Orders stock items for the purpose of maintaining designated inventory levels
  6. Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information
  7. Prepares orders, including back orders, by pulling from stock for the purpose of meeting delivery requirements
  8. Receives stock and non-stock items for the purpose of ensuring specifications, quantity and quality of orders are correct, and inputs into the computers
  9. Responds to inquiries of staff and vendors for the purpose of providing information and/or direction regarding the status of inventory and/or deliveries
  10. Stocks equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining required inventory levels
  11. Receives supply work orders or requisitions through the computer system
  12. Periodically checks stock inventory and makes necessary adjustments as required
  13. Organizes any and all extra pick ups
  14. Verifies orders and quality of materials received for the purpose of ensuring orders are properly filled by vendors and specifications are met
  15. Drives vehicles for the purpose of transporting orders to designated sites
  1. Perform such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent/Designee


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Skills are required to perform multiple, non-technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: utilizing equipment used in profession.

Knowledge is required to perform basic math; understand written procedures, write routine documents, and possess strong communication skills; and understand multi-step oral and written instructions. Data entry skills required with experience in warehouse operations software. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: pertinent codes, policies, regulations and/or laws.

Ability is required to schedule activities, gather, collate and/or classify data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with specific, job-related data, and utilize specific, job-related equipment. In working with others, independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires following prescribed guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited. Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include; adhering to safety practices; communicating with diverse groups; and meeting deadlines and schedules.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized procedures; providing information and/or advising others. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to impact the Organization's services.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; significant climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling; and significant fine-finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 70% walking and 10% standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and some hazardous conditions.
