SUMMARY:

The Epic Cogito certified Analytics Solution Developer reports to the Manager of Data Analytics & Insights (DAI). Under general supervision and within Lifespan established policies and procedures develops supports and implements high quality and high value analytics solutions to meet customer needs and expectations to support department objectives. The ideal candidate innovatively supports and coordinates development of solutions for both routine service requests and complex projects incorporating data from multiple systems and data sources across all Lifespan affiliated partners. Supports the performance improvement agenda of both the DA&I department as well as that of the broader Lifespan health system through the facilitation of key objectives aimed at patient/family center care excellence and physician engagement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

ABachelors Degreeis required.

Up-to-date certification in Epic Clarity / Cogito is required.

A minimum of 3 years of experience managing analytics solution projects including development of Clarity reports and datasets proficient use of SSIS or Python to automate data extraction transformation and load procedures and integrated analytics solutions within a data visualization platform (such as Power BI Tableau Qlik TIBCO Spotfire etc..).

Prior experience in a healthcare setting with experience in Healthcare Outcomes Surveying and Database Design is required.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Creates debugs supports and upgrades DAI's Epic Clarity and Caboodle-Based reports datasets extracts Power BI Solutions SSIS packages and data exchanges between internal systems and external parties (i.e. Vizient NRC Patient Experience Press Ganey commercial payers Health Information Exchangesetc).

Works closely with Lifespan's Information Services Business Intelligence team and other analytics teams across the organization to ensure the efficient and secure exchange of all data needed to facilitate integrated enterprise analytics solutions.

Establishes development schedules and ensures schedule is executed as defined.

Meets regularly with the department's Senior Analysts and external analytics customers to define needs and to understand business requirements to ensure appropriate program and systems development and maintenance decisions are made.

Ensures analytics solutions are developed in context of Lifespan as an integrated system and are not limited to a single site unless approved by management.

Assumes responsibility for assigned tasks from initial design through development and testing.

Designs codes tests and debugs various solutions that integrate data into specific reporting formats.

Assists with the design and maintenance of regional databases and creates database integration tools that are Microsoft and/orweb-based.

Creates and maintains technical specifications change-management and testing documentation for new analytics solutions.

Serves as resource in conducting information flow analysis and feasibility studies. When requested solutions lack feasibility provides alternative and agile recommendations to meet the requested business need.

Serves as a technical resource for DA&I Business Systems Analysts Lifespan's Care Transformation Quality & Safety and Regulatory and Accreditation Readiness team leads and analysts.

Participates in code review and provides mentoring to DA&I analysts in support of ongoing development and refining of the entire teams report-development and/or Power BI dataset build and report creation skills.

Assumes role of lead support and liaison to Lifespan IS on DAI projects when required.

Ensures analytics solutions with confidential information including but not limited to personnel information and Protected Health Information (PHI) are protected using industry standard tools and protocols and Lifespan password protocols.

Identifies and communicates system issues and proposes alternatives and solutions to information services management.

Understands how existing systems function and works with customers to find a satisfactory solution when new development requests are not appropriate.

Maintains Epic Cogito Clarity/Caboodle certification proficiency with Microsoft O365 / Cloud-based analytics technology with advanced level of knowledge in data analytics and application development by researching tracking and understanding emerging technologies and practices and participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work is performed in a typical office setting requiring extensive periods of sitting with arms extended as well as walking and standing. Remote working arrangements are available.

INDEPENDENT ACTION:

Performs independently within the department policies and procedures; refers specific problems to the Director where clarification of departmental policies and procedures or workload may be required.
