Job Title: Medical Chart Abstractor - OncologyJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Chart Abstractor with a strong background in oncology. This role involves reviewing patient charts, abstracting vital information, and entering data into electronic case forms. The ideal candidate will have a valid Registered Nurse license, extensive oncology experience, and proficiency in using multiple computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review and abstract vital patient information from medical charts.

  • Work within oncology specialties.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.

  • Enter information based on specific questions into electronic case forms.

  • Utilize multiple computer systems such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Teams.

Essential Skills

  • Valid Registered Nurse license.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in oncology (ideal is 5 years).

  • Minimum of 2 years of abstraction experience.

  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience as a clinical research nurse with abstraction and patient care is highly desirable.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position requiring candidates to reside in the United States and have a valid U.S. license. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Candidates must provide their own monitor and keyboard, though a laptop will be supplied. Proficiency in navigating computers and using software like Microsoft Office and Excel is essential.
