This opportunity comes with a 45-year-old privately held business that is currently in a phase of growth, actively seeking talent to bolster our software development efforts.

As a Software Engineer and Developer, you will play a crucial role in the ongoing application development and cross-platform integration of software and database programs within our manufacturing environment. This position involves working with both PCs and manufacturing devices/machines that collect data.

The responsibilities include writing new software to facilitate system integration, as well as maintaining and enhancing existing software and integrations. Additionally, database work such as writing stored procedures, queries, views, and administering user permissions and customizations will be integral to this role.

The ideal candidate will have experience collaborating with Manufacturing and Sales teams on projects involving data input or output. While there is potential for remote work, we prefer someone to be on-site for most working days.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintenance of in-house applications, including:
  • SQL Server Database queries, stored procedures, and data integration
  • C# using MVC for in-house developed apps
  • VB.NET using Visual Studio for desktop application development and enhancement
  • Crystal Reports for report customizations and new report creations
  • Ignition and SCADA systems
  • Excel work and VBA integrations
  • Utilize familiarity with Ignition software or other SCADA systems
  • Develop and generate reports crucial for Manufacturing and Sales teams
  • Collaborate with in-house engineers and users to improve performance in all areas where IT is involved
Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • Several years of experience in software development and database administration
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient project management skills for planning, execution, and monitoring
  • MS Office/VBA programming and automation proficiency
  • Thorough understanding of software architecture and database design and management
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry, particularly in Inventory, Purchasing, order entry, and all steps through shipping

This role does not involve responsibilities related to network administration or hardware maintenance, but knowledge in these areas would be beneficial.
