Position: Cisco Network Engineer

Location: Chandler, AZ

Work Model: Hybrid, 3 Onsite / 2 Remote

Duration: 6+ month contract

Hourly Rate: $50/hr to $60/hr+

Experience Overview: Proficiency with Cisco Switches and Routers, experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, and familiarity with Wi-Fi 6 are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test and troubleshoot voice and data circuits to ensure they meet customer requirements effectively.
  • Provide expert technical guidance on network projects and system requests.
  • Document and design network services while ensuring clear communication for project delivery.
  • Respond to customer requests and design solutions that lead to successful outcomes.
  • Monitor network usage, performing capacity planning to optimize the environment.
  • Document firewall and security designs, facilitating effective service communication.
  • Document access control designs, ensuring comprehensive service delivery.
  • Design and plan building and floor layouts for proper communications service installations.
  • Develop, execute, and monitor security performance measures to protect information, network infrastructure, and computer systems.
  • Manage and maintain Wi-Fi networking hardware and monitoring software.

Qualifications that Matter:

  • Solid background in networking, routing, switching, and Firewall Security Administration, with a strong grasp of network concepts, protocols, and topology management.
  • Experience with fiber channel switching topologies, telecommunications (T1, T3 links), and capacity planning concepts.
  • Proficient in installing, configuring, and maintaining complex data communications and Enterprise Network Equipment, including Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewalls, IPS/IDS Equipment, and VPN technologies.
  • Ability to perform installation and configuration for current IOS and effective traffic monitoring and notification.
  • Collaborate with vendors and design engineers to develop efficient systems and make decisions within regulatory frameworks and established procedures.
  • Familiarity with project management techniques and performing monitoring and analysis for business needs.
  • Strong communication skills, able to convey technical and non-technical concepts to various audiences effectively.
  • Professionally manage public interactions, maintaining positive relationships with city employees, vendors, and the community.
