Responsibilities

Abides by and enforces all compliance requirements and policies and performs these responsibilities in an ethical manner consistent with the organization's values; adheres to facility policies including confidentiality. Performs two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings and Doppler flow analyses of cardiac and vascular structures using ultrasound equipment to include carotid duplex scan, peripheral arterial exam, peripheral venous exam, deep and superficial venous exams, segmental pressures, ankle-brachial indices, dialysis access duplex, and intraoperative vascular ultrasound. Provides accurate preliminary reports to physicians on all vascular studies per department protocols; provides thorough documentation of all procedures performed including procedure worksheets, patient demographics, and log books; cleans and monitors equipment, and reports equipment failure/problems to supervisor; maintains a clean and orderly work area; accepts and completes all duties positively and without conflict; cooperates, helps others and improves the performance of the unit; completes all mandatory educational and clinical requirements; utilizes cost effective practices in performing all aspects of the job; performs cleaning, inventory control, stocking of equipment and supplies; demonstrates the ability to provide competent patient care. Communicates and uses appropriate customer relation skills with physicians, patients, families and healthcare team in person Accesses and accurately maintains electronic and paper medical records; participates on committees as assigned; participates in Performance Improvement activities as assigned; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and four years allied health or patient care experience, two of which must have been full-time cardiac or vascular ultrasound experience; or completion of an allied health degree or two-year training program and one year of full-time cardiac or vascular experience; or completion of an approved ultrasound training program.
