Term of Employment: 10-month contract with hours as needed in summer

Salary Classification: Discipline Specific Salary Schedule plus Stipend

Job Summary: Provide support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for coordinating and supervising developmental preschool programs and services to benefit preschool age children; providing information and serving as a resource to others; and achieving defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing, and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines. Essential Functions: Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include, but are not limited to, the following tasks, duties, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES generally include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Develop preschool program plans with an interdisciplinary team of staff, parents, and other component specialists aligned with District goals and initiative and in accordance with all collaborating agency, city, State, and Federal regulations and guidance.

• Work closely with the preschool director and ESS leadership to foster shared decision-making, ensure organization, training, alignment with applicable performance standards and effective operation in accordance with required city, State, and Federal program guidelines carrying out goals, policies, and activities designed.

• Collaborates with internal and external personnel (e.g. district personnel, providers, public agencies, community members, etc.) for the purpose of improving the overall quality of student outcomes and achieving established objectives.

• Compiles data from a wide variety of sources (e.g. staff, public agencies, etc.) for the purpose of analyzing issues, ensuring compliance with organization policies and procedures, and/or monitoring program components.

• Coordinates program components, support needs, and materials for the purpose of delivering services which conform to established guidelines and student needs and ensuring necessary reports are submitted in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

• Directs department operations, maintenance of services, and implementation of new programs and/or processes for the purpose of providing services within established timeframes and in compliance with related requirements.

• Facilitates meetings, workshops, seminars, etc. (e.g. due process hearings, district liaison, special education parent groups, etc.) for the purpose of identifying issues, developing recommendations, supporting other staff, and serving as a District representative.

• Identifies program needs for the purpose of providing recommendations of expenditures for equipment and supplies that will enhance the assigned student activity.

• Maintains a variety of confidential and nonconfidential, manual and electronic files and/or records for the purpose of documenting activities, providing reliable information, and/or complying with regulatory requirements and established guidelines.

• Manages a variety of processes and procedures (e.g. development, alignment, and implementation of curriculum and professional development, etc.) for the purpose of delivering services which conform to established guidelines and ensuring district objectives are achieved in the most efficient and timely manner.

• Monitors assigned district activities and/or program components for the purpose of coordinating activities, determining effectiveness, assessing safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with established financial, legal, and/or administrative requirements.

• Participates in a variety of meetings (e.g. workshops, inter- and intra-district committees, community and public agencies, seminars, conferences, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and gathering information regarding a wide variety of subjects required to carry out administrative responsibilities.

• Performs assigned personnel functions (e.g. recruiting, interviewing, supervising, training, observing, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing, and enhancing productivity of personnel.

• Prepares a wide variety of reference, presentation, policy, and administrative materials (e.g. plans, reports, analyses, recommendations, procedures, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and issues, meeting compliance requirements, providing audit references, making presentations, and/or providing supporting materials for requested actions.

• Presents information on a variety of topics related to administrative responsibilities (e.g. financial information, overviews of programs/services, policies and procedures, etc.) for the purpose of providing information, gaining feedback, training others, implementing actions, and/or ensuring adherence to established internal controls.

• Researches a variety of topics required to manage assignments (e.g. relevant policies, federal and state statutes, staffing requirements, financial resources, etc.) for the purpose of developing and maintaining program services and supports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, securing general information, and/or responding to requests.

• Responds to issues from a variety of internal and external sources (e.g. issues involving staff, conflicts in policies and regulations, community concerns, parental requests that

may result in some negative impact and/or liability if not appropriately addressed, etc.) for the purpose of identifying the relevant issues and recommending or implementing a plan of action that will efficiently resolve the issue.

• Attends IEP and MET meetings.

• Performs other duties as assigned or required or the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, policies and procedures including AzEIP, Part C to Part B transition and in-by-three qualifications.

• Knowledge of applicable Peoria Unified School District and departmental policies and procedures.

• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, vendors, students, parents, the general public and others having business with the school district.

• Knowledge of Early Childhood Assessment tools - ECERS (Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale, CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) and Point Scale.

• Knowledge of Arizona Department of Health Services Child Care Licensure regulations.

• Skill in working with adult learners and the ability to articulate early childhood best practices.

• Knowledge of early childhood instructional techniques.

• Knowledge of typical and atypical early childhood development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a bachelor's degree in early childhood OR a related service field, AND a minimum of three years' experience in an early childhood (0-8 years) setting. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background clearance check.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona driver's license.

• Maintain a complete AZ DHS licensing file.

• May be required to lift and carry heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds.

• May be required to work outside normal working hours.

• May be required to travel to perform work functions.
