Summary: Located in Cleveland, Ohio, our Cleveland Service Center specializes in remanufacturing alternators for EVO, HDL, and FDL locomotives. Serving locomotive manufacturing sites and repair points worldwide, the center prioritizes safety, efficiency, and cost reduction. The Electric Mechanic A role involves dismantling, cleaning, repairing, and rebuilding components across multiple product lines efficiently. Employees actively participate in 5S and lean projects and report directly to the Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complex operations including assembly, dismantling, cleaning, inspection, and repair of components within the department.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety awareness and accident prevention.
  • Utilize electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, maintenance manuals, and instructions for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, problem identification, and resolution.
  • Meet aggressive delivery schedules and productivity goals, suggesting and implementing process and quality improvements.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to perform all tasks related to repairing Alternators and Generators.
  • Fulfill any other duties assigned by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred experience with Tow Motor operation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly communicate verbally.
  • Regularly observe small details such as handwriting, labels, and components.
  • Wear steel toe shoes and safety glasses.
  • On-site presence during scheduled shifts to fulfill duties and responsibilities.
Work Environment:
  • Typically operates in an industrial setting with frequent exposure to electronic testing equipment.
  • May encounter extreme weather conditions during site visits.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and loud noise.
