Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage general accounting operations by verifying financial transactions and ensuring accuracy in reporting. The role involves overseeing month-end close procedures, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing financial statements. As a Senior Accountant, you will collaborate closely with the accounting team, providing leadership and ensuring adherence to financial principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Prepare and present accurate accounting reports.
  • Analyze financial information to summarize financial status and provide forecasts.
  • Identify errors and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost management.
  • Provide technical support and advice to the Management Accountant.
  • Review and enhance accounting systems and procedures.
  • Supervise accounting assistants and bookkeepers.
  • Participate in setting financial standards and assist with the forecast process.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and budgets in accordance with schedules.
  • Support tax audits and return preparations.
  • Lead internal and external audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Develop and implement business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Collaborate with the Financial Manager and Accounting Manager to enhance financial procedures.
Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Strong familiarity with financial accounting statements.
  • Experience in general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software such as FreshBooks or QuickBooks.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including Vlookups and pivot tables.
  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Relevant certification (e.g., CMA or CPA) is preferred.
