Adjunct Professor of Animal Science and Registered Veterinary Technician

Overview: This is a temporary, part-time position for an Adjunct Professor of Animal Science and Registered Veterinary Technician. The successful candidate will teach Animal Science classes and related courses according to established curriculum. The position requires a commitment to the community college goals and objectives of providing quality programs and services for students with diverse abilities and interests.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Either a Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in teaching or animal science, or an Associate's degree and six years of professional experience in teaching or animal science.
  • Commitment to providing quality programs and services to students with diverse abilities and interests.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Registered Veterinary Technician License in California and either a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Animal Science or Animal Industries Business Management.
  • Six years of experience in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, or a related field.
  • Willingness and ability to work with diverse animal species.
  • Skills in animal handling and restraint, anatomy and physiology.
  • Experience with Pet Science.
  • Agriculture Business and Resource Management background.
  • Experience and enthusiasm in teaching vocational/technical students.
